General Information:
- Four and a half years private tutoring experience with students mainly from Howick, Botany, Macleans, Pakuranga, St Kentigerns, Sancta Maria and Sacred Heart Colleges
- Other colleges and tertiary institutions where students have been tutored include Strathallan, St Cuthbert's, Ormiston, MIT and Massey
- High success rate with students in exams (passes and higher grades)
- One on one tutoring (small groups upon enquiry)
- Experienced with students with learning disabilities
- Tutoring sessions typically one hour but can vary dependent on student needs and may be weekly or fortnightly or as required. .
- Sessions are usually after school into the early evening or weekends. Tutoring over the school holidays is also available
- Tutoring can be own home or at my house (Howick - close to Howick Intermediate School)
- Tuition is structured and tailored to suit students' requirements & abilities and follows the school's course timetable. Homework and additional work is usually set.

Background
My name is Neil Beckett and I have been tutoring and mentoring students in the Eastern/Southern city areas of Manukau for over four and a half years.

Over the last three years I have also worked as a casual and a fixed term contract lecturer at Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) in the Foundation Studies Department and lecture college mathematics and provide assistance in the physics course along with other duties. Foundation Studies offers bridging courses for students who have not gained or completed NZ college qualifications and may wish to further their education in tertiary institutions.

I have an Engineering Degree (Engineering Science) majoring in applied mathematics, computational techniques, operations research, finite element analysis, continuum mechanics, control theory, electronics and chemical thermal statistics. Hence I have a very strong academic background in theoretical and applied mathematics and physics (along with the other sciences). I also have a Post Graduate Diploma in Business (Information Systems) and I am a certified PRINCE2 Project Manager .

On leaving university I worked for 27 years in the private sector and local government in Engineering and Business Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) roles..
